IPTV Smarters Pro VPN: How to Add a VPN to the App

Use the VPN section inside IPTV Smarters Pro with your own OpenVPN profile: where to find it, how to import it and how to connect.

4 min read

An IPTV Smarters Pro VPN setup takes a few minutes. IPTV Smarters Pro has its own VPN section that takes an OpenVPN profile, so you can switch the VPN on from inside the app, without a second app. This guide shows where to find your profile, how to get it onto your device, how to connect and what to check when it does not work.

What you need

  • IPTV Smarters Pro on the device you watch on.
  • An active IPTV VPN plan.
  • Your VPN username and password and an OpenVPN file (.ovpn) from your account.

The VPN section is part of IPTV Smarters Pro itself. Where it sits in the menus depends on the app version and the device, so this guide describes what to look for instead of naming a button that may look different on your screen.

Why use the VPN inside the app

Your internet provider can see your traffic and may slow some of it down. With the VPN on, it only sees encrypted traffic between your device and our server, so your streams cannot be singled out. On hotel, café and airport Wi-Fi, the VPN keeps your logins and your traffic encrypted. Running the IPTV Smarters Pro VPN from inside the app also means you do not have to remember to start a second app.

1Open your VPN details

Sign in to your IPTV VPN account, open Subscriptions and open your VPN subscription. The Your VPN card holds your VPN username and password, an OpenVPN file (.ovpn) for each server location and a WireGuard setup for each device number.

Keep this page open. You need the username, the password and the file in the next steps.

2Download the .ovpn file

Press Download next to the server location you want, on the device that runs IPTV Smarters Pro. Each file lists every server of that location, so the app moves to another one by itself if a server is down.

On a TV it is easier to press Copy link instead. That gives you a web address for the same file. Open the address in a browser on the TV and the file downloads there. The link works for 14 days.

3Open the VPN section of IPTV Smarters Pro

Open IPTV Smarters Pro and look for its VPN section. On many devices it sits on the home screen, on others in the settings. The exact menu name differs by app version.

4Import the profile

In the VPN section, choose to add a profile from a file and pick the .ovpn file you downloaded. It is usually in the Downloads folder of the device. The exact menu name differs by app version.

5Sign in and connect

Enter the VPN username and password from the Your VPN card and connect. Once the IPTV Smarters Pro VPN shows as connected, open your playlist as usual.

The profile tries the quick UDP connection first and moves to TCP by itself when a network does not allow UDP. You do not have to choose.

The app or the whole device?

The VPN inside IPTV Smarters Pro covers what you watch in that app. If you also want your browser and other apps covered, use the official WireGuard app instead: it protects every app on the device. Our WireGuard guide shows the steps for each device, and the Fire TV Stick guide covers the most common TV stick.

You can use both on different devices. For example, the IPTV Smarters Pro VPN on the living room TV and WireGuard on your phone. Each plan covers up to 3 devices at the same time.

If the VPN does not connect

Most IPTV Smarters Pro VPN problems come down to one of these:

  • Login refused. Copy the VPN username and password again from your account. They are case sensitive, and a space at the end counts.
  • The file is not in the list. Download it again on the same device, or use Copy link and open it in that device's browser.
  • The import fails. Download a fresh copy. Do not open or edit the file in another app first.
  • It connects, then drops. Check that your plan is still active in Subscriptions.
  • Nothing connects on this network. Some networks block VPN connections. Try stealth mode in a stealth app on that network.

For a closer look at the file itself, read how to import an .ovpn file in IPTV Smarters.
